Even if the zinc layer is partially scratched, the surrounding zinc layer still protects the substrate. Second, its workability is similar to that of carbon steel. Hot-dip galvanized sheets can be stamped into architectural colored steel tiles and home appliance housings, while electro-galvanized sheets can be bent and welded into furniture hardware, avoiding the difficulty and high cost of stainless steel processing. Third, its cost-effectiveness is highly adaptable, with a unit price of only 1/3-1/2 that of 304 stainless steel plates, 30%-50% higher than ordinary carbon steel plates. However, it eliminates the subsequent painting and maintenance costs, resulting in a lower overall cost, making it suitable for mass production.

In the home appliance sector, electrogalvanized sheet is used for refrigerator liners and washing machine control panels, while hot-dip galvanized sheet is used for air conditioner outer casings and water heater housings. In the transportation sector, hot-dip galvanized sheet is used for truck bed floors and highway guardrails. In the hardware sector, electrogalvanized sheet is used for drawer slides and cabinet door hinges. Furthermore, in the agricultural sector, hot-dip galvanized sheet is used to construct greenhouse frames (moisture-resistant), and in the packaging sector, thin hot-dip galvanized sheet is used to make metal packaging barrels.
Three key points to consider when using this product: First, adaptability to the specific application scenario. Hot-dip galvanized sheet (coating thickness ≥60 μm) is preferred for outdoor and humid environments. Electro-galvanized sheet should be selected for indoor use in dry environments with high aesthetic requirements to avoid premature rust. Second, process protection: Clean the zinc layer around the weld during welding (zinc volatilization at high temperatures produces fumes, which can affect welding quality). Control the pressure during stamping (the zinc layer is brittle and can crack easily due to excessive stretching). Avoid scratching the electro-galvanized sheet (scratches can significantly reduce its corrosion resistance). Third, storage and maintenance: Store in a dry and ventilated place. Outdoor hot-dip galvanized sheet should be elevated to prevent moisture, and electro-galvanized sheet should be wrapped with moisture-proof film to prevent moisture from causing white rust on the zinc layer. For routine maintenance, if localized rust appears on outdoor hot-dip galvanized sheet, reapply with cold-dip galvanizing paint with a zinc content of ≥95% to extend its service life.
